WOOD

Solid wood floors are a natural choice for quality flooring. The advantage of solid wood is that it can be sanded and refinished, providing years of service to the homeowner or business. Because our suppliers are as conscious of the environment as you are, they ensure that the flooring is harvested from sustainable forests.

The choice of wood products is amazingly wide, from locally grown Alder  Maple, reclaimed wood from Ft Lewis barracks, Hickory/Pecan, European Beech, European White Ash, Brazilian Cherry, Santos Mahogany, Australian Cypress to mention a few.

Many of the hardwoods we sell are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (F.S.C.) which enjoys the support of the World Wildlife Fund, Sierra Club, The Natural Resources Defense Council, ForestEthics, and other leading environmental organizations.

Engineered wood floors are equally popular with the environmentally conscious buyer in that a smaller amount of hardwood is used in the production of the flooring.

Engineered flooring has all the benefits of laminated flooring—including superior stability and easy installation—and the look of solid wood. In engineered flooring, a surface layer of high-quality hardwood is bonded to two wood sub-layers. Cross-ply construction makes the product more stable than solid wood. Our wear layers are among the thickest on the market: 3.6mm (just over .14"). Engineered flooring can be nailed down like solid flooring, glued directly to concrete, or "floated" (gluing the planks to each other and not to the subfloor). Because they are prefinished, these products do not have to be sanded and finished on the jobsite, and are easy and inexpensive to install. Most of our engineered floors feature a state-of-the-art UV-cured aluminum oxide finish that is among the most durable available, making them ideal for demanding commercial as well as residential applications.

Carlisle Wide Plank floors are some of the most sought after flooring products offered to the person remodeling or building. The craftsmanship and quality of Carlisle floors is not surpassed. Whether a person chooses Eastern White Pine, Hardwoods, Antique Woods, or Hand Distressed Floors, the texture and appearance of the flooring is simple and elegant. The result of the quality manufacturing and finishing is a floor that resonates with history while offering ease of installation and the comfort of unparalleled stability.

In the showroom we have Amish hand-scaped hardwood. This is genuinely hand-scraped—not distressed by machinery. The texture and visual effect of hand-scraped flooring is to provide a sense of age and use, with the inherent sense of value.

Prefinished hardwood provides the utmost in durability and stability without sacrificing the wood’s natural beauty and texture. Common are 30-year residential finish and lifetime structural warranties.

Unfinished hardwoods are kiln-dried and precision-milled to the highest industry standards. Purchasing unfinished hardwood allows multiple refinishing while owning an all natural product containing no man-made chemicals or adhesives.
