JANEY KOESTER
Janey Koester works at 510 Interiors on many Wednesdays and Saturdays, but her most valuable asset to the store is her willingness to bring samples from the store to your home and provide decorating, color, and material suggestions. Janey has lived in Olympia for more than thirty years, and has continued the home building and remodeling passion she and her husband, Tim, discovered as they built and remodeled homes from Fairbanks, Alaska to Corvallis, Oregon. Their two homes in Boston Harbor and her latest complete remodel of her home on East Bay Drive demonstrate well her sense of style and attention to detail. With nearly forty years of experience selecting the right flooring, countertops, and cabinets for her residences, she is simply an encyclopedia of ideas to tap.
Janey admits that she is partial to the recycled glass countertops on display at the front of the store from Gleenglass and the very eco-friendly counters by PaperStone's recycled compressed paper product. She can help you choose the most interesting ceramic tiles for entryways, and select from the wonderful options of wool carpets from Wools of New Zealand and Godfrey Hirst. But don't get her started on bamboo - her favorite grass. She will explain in detail the beauty and durability of the fast growing tropical tree as well as its resistance to stain, scratches, and scuffs.
