I have been working in the floor covering field for 20 plus years. I began installing carpets with my neighbor when I was in high school, and moved into installing other materials: hardwood, tile, laminate floor and some vinyl. Then I went to work for a general contractor, who is now my father-in-law, building custom homes...from foundations to framing to finish carpentry. That is where I met my beautiful wife Lisa. After our first child Dyllan was born, I went back into estimating and selling floor coverings for the more regular hours.
Dyllan developed problems with allergies and childhood onset asthma that landed him in the hospital on several occasions. My wife and I were scared and frustrated to watch our baby boy in pain and struggling to breathe. We learned an awful lot about indoor air quality in a hurry. Our son is doing well and hasn't had to go to the hospital for over two years now. His asthma episodes are much less severe and farther between. We've been told that he may outgrow it all together, but the experience has changed our perspective for good. We now have another child Jozey, who is as beautiful as her mother and healthy in every way.
Like most people here in the great northwest, we like hiking, camping, boating and enjoying nature any way we can. My wife and I also study Tai Chi Chuan (Those slow fluid movements you may have seen people doing in the park), and I have been teaching classes at the YMCA for over 10 years now. We feel very lucky to have been invited into 510 Interiors. Not everybody gets a chance to work at something they believe in so completely... and get paid for it!
